Baseplate and bridges are made of grade 5 titanium. The baseplate and bridges are crafted from grade 5 titanium, a highly biocompatible, corrosion-resistant, and extremely hard alloy that ensures the smooth operation of the gear train. The alloy is composed of 90% grade 5 titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium. This combination further enhances the material's mechanical properties, making it widely used in the aerospace and automotive industries. The baseplate of the RMAC3 movement has been optimized to achieve an extremely low weight-to-drag ratio.
The skeletonized baseplate and bridges underwent intensive and thorough validation testing to optimize their resistance.
Flyback Chronograph:
A running chronograph can be reset by pressing the push-piece between 4 and 5 o'clock without stopping the movement. This feature was originally designed for pilots to avoid wasting time stopping, resetting, and starting the chronograph when crossing waypoints (thereby improving accuracy).
When the chronograph is activated, the hours and minutes are displayed on the counters at 6 and 9 o'clock, while the seconds are indicated by a central hand.
Functions
The user can start and stop the chronograph function using the push-button located between 1 and 2 o'clock.
The flyback function can be continuously reset by pressing the push-button located between 4 and 5 o'clock.
Countdown
The hand at 9 o'clock is replaced by a skeletonized 60-minute disc. The wearer can read the elapsed time and the remaining minutes.
GMT Function
The RM 11-05 features a GMT hand filled with Super-LumiNova. It can be easily adjusted using the push-button at 9 o'clock.
Oversized Date Display
The semi-instantaneous hour marker, located within a red-outlined horizontal aperture below 12 o'clock, automatically adjusts to 30- or 31-day months.
Month Display
The semi-instantaneous hour marker, displayed in Arabic numerals, is located between 4 and 5 o'clock.
Variable Inertia Free-Sprung Balance
This type of balance wheel represents the pinnacle of innovation. It ensures greater reliability against shocks and during movement assembly and disassembly, resulting in even greater long-term accuracy. The regulator index has been eliminated, allowing for more precise and repeatable adjustment through four small, adjustable weights located directly on the balance wheel.

This exclusive Richard Mille feature effectively adjusts the mainspring winding speed to the wearer's activity level, whether in active or non-active settings. By adjusting the position of the ribs, the rotor's inertia varies, accelerating the winding speed during slower arm movements and slowing it down during active activity. Double Barrel System
The double barrel system contributes to greater long-term torque stability. This is achieved by increasing the number of rotations of the barrel, thereby reducing stress and wear on the teeth, bearings, and pivots, thereby improving long-term performance.
Grade 5 titanium spline screws are used in both the movement and case.
This allows for better control of the torque applied to the screws during assembly.
As a result, these screws are unaffected by physical handling during assembly or disassembly and are less susceptible to aging.
